The nearby Pacific Crest Trail, part of the Tahoe National Forest, features rugged trails for seasoned hikers, as well as easier walks for leisurely strolls, all bringing you face to face with the flora and fauna of Central California.
A short drive to Sierra City's Main Street will reveal a historic old Gold Rush town at the base of the Sierra Buttes, with original structures dating as far back as 1871. Quaint shops and charming cafes are at your service in Sierra City as well as in the nearby town of Downieville, established in 1849 and containing some of the oldest architecture in the region.
