Come fishing in the well-stocked Lake San Isabel, set just three miles below our camp. Aspen Acres Campground is located off Highway 165 and Interstate 25, making this an ideal base camp for your exploration of the area. You can set out on a day trip to Pueblo, Canon City, or Colorado Springs for golfing, shopping, and dining. Then plan a day of hiking in Greenhorn Valley or the amazing St. Charles Peak.
The San Isabel National Forest, bordering our camp, is an excellent place to watch for wildlife. Do some bird watching along the Colorado Frontier Parkway Scenic Byway, a drive that highlights the best of our region. Then spend a day exploring the 30-square-miles of dunes at the Great Sand Dunes National Monument & Preserve, a geologic wonder that was set aside for preservation in 1932. |
