From the peaceful tranquility of the shores of Lake Erie to the thrills and chills of a high speed roller coaster, there is something for everyone at Shade Acres Campground and Cottages in lovely Port Clinton, Ohio. Near I-80/90 and off of State Route 53, the campground is located on the north coast of Lake Erie, and caters to RVers and tent campers alike, and even has some great cottages and a bunk house for those who want to leave their gear behind. Mature shade trees and lake breezes provide comfort from the heat at this seasonal park, open April 15 through October 15 and featuring an easy to use online reservation system.

There's plenty to do at camp, whether you prefer to swim in the lake, walk along the sandy beach, or enjoy some water recreation and fishing in Port Clinton, also known as the 'Walleye Capital of the World'. You can expect to catch a lot of fish near camp, where there are several marinas, boat ramps and docks for your convenience. Hop aboard one of Kelleys Island Ferries for a trip to picturesque Put-In-Bay, or visit the historic downtown of Port Clinton, with its quaint shops and delectable eateries.

When you are ready for some real adventure, head toward Cedar Point, an amusement park with 68 rides and 16 roller coasters in addition to a water park and more in nearby Sandusky. Another memorable destination is the Monsoon Lagoon Water Park in Port Clinton, with six amazing waterslides, including the three story tall Typhoon Rush Slide Tower. There is much more to do in the area, and when you stay at Shade Acres Campground and Cottages, you'll be right in the middle of the best that northern Ohio has to offer.
