Welcoming RV and tent campers all year long, the campground has two picturesque fishing ponds, as well as a full size swimming pool, game room and camp store.

A drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a perfect day trip from the park, offering sweeping views of the forests and mountains of the region, with quaint towns and historical sites to stop at along the way. For exploring more of the great outdoors, the Fairy Stone State Park, just a short drive from the campground, offers great hiking trails, beach swimming, rowboats, canoeing, paddleboats and more. At Mabry Mill, located off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, travelers can see a restored gristmill, sawmill, woodworking shop and blacksmith, where interpreters demonstrate basket weaving, seat cane-ing and other crafts from yesteryear.

Also located in close proximity to the campground is the Martinsville Speedway, at ½ mile the shortest track on the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit, making for some of the biggest action in the world of racing. For those with a taste for the finer things, the Château Morrisette Winery, in Floyd County, is another great destination, with fine wines for tasting and lovely vineyards for touring.
