Experience The Madera Wine Trail

California produces some of the best wine in the country. One region to enjoy these wines is in Madera Country. Here you can tour the Madera Wine Trail and enjoy some of the best wineries in the country. Enjoy the views of the grape fields, the tasting, meeting the winemakers and all of the recreation to be found throughout the region.

Along the Madera Wine Trail there are thirteen member wineries, and along the Madera Wine Trail visitors can visit ten of these wineries. The Madera Wine Trail website has a very nice map detailing where each winery is located and what hours each tasting room is open.

Two of these wineries are located near Bass Lake and Oakhurst. These two wineries are the Idle Hour Winery and the Westbrook Wine Farm. Idle Hour Winery has tasting room hours year round, during the late spring through the early fall the tasting room is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. Westbrook Wine Farms tasting room is open by appointment.

If you would like to spend some time camping and recreating while enjoying the delights of the Madera Wine Trail. The High Sierra and Mobile Park in Oakhurst. This RV Park has plenty of spacious RV spots. Bass Lake is a great destination for water recreation including boating and swimming. In addition the area also has fantastic options for backpacking, biking and more.

To the south, in Madera is where travelers will find the majority of the wineries on the Madera Wine Trail. These wineries include the Sumner Peck Ranch Winery, the Cru Wine Company, the San Joaquin Wine Company, the Quady Winery, the Chateau Lasgoity, the Papagni Wines, the Ficklin Vineyards and the Birdstone Winery.

Each of these wineries, like those near Oakhurst have their own tasting hours. The Birdstone Winery Tasting Room is open on the weekends from 11am to 5pm. Chateau Lasgoity is also open weekends, from 1pm to 5pm. The Cru Wine Company is open everyday from 11am to 5pm. Ficklin Vineayrds is also open daily from 11am to 5pm. Visitors must make an appointment to visit the tasting room. Quady Winery's tasting room is open on the weekend from noon to 4:30pm and during the week from 9:30am to 4:30pm. The San Joaquin Wine Company is open by appointment only. Last but not least the Sumner Peck Ranch Winery is open daily from 10am to 7pm during the summer and daily from 10am to 6pm during the winter.

The Madera Wine Trail is a great opportunity to explore a beautiful region of California. In addition it is a great way to experience some of the fantastic wines of California. While exploring the Madera Wine Trail travelers can also enjoy recreation at wonderful recreational destinations like Bass Lake or at the stunning Yosemite National Park.
