COAST

Also called the low country because of its slight elevation, this area is all about water. Beaches, creeks, swamps, and rivers reign here, making water activities and wildlife viewing prime recreation activities. Small towns line the Intercoastal Waterway, making exploring a delight. You won’t want to miss the Okefenokee Swamp or bird watching along the sugar sand beaches. Look for dolphins, loggerhead turtles, blue crabs, terns, egrets, and sand dollars. Fish the creeks and rivers for bass, catfish, bluegill, and redbreast.
