Dragonfly Days, Weslaco

Insect enthusiasts should stop in Weslaco during the month of May. This time of the year is great for siting dragonflies and damselflies. There are over 100 species in the region. Visitors can learn all about the different species while getting to see them as well.

Songwriter's Showcase Art Festival, Port Aransas

One way to enjoy some of the unique art and culture of Texas is to attend this festival. Visitors can enjoy a magnificent variety of music. Held in the evening at the Tarpon Inn Courtyard visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the music. Music genres range from Folk to Cajun to Rock. This festival will have a little bit of original music for everyone.

Blues on the Hill, Harlingen

Blues fans should be sure to visit Harlingen on May 12, 2012. It will be the first event in the summer series held in McKelvey Park. This event offers a variety of Blues artists. Visitors can attend the event for free, and get to enjoy the music while sitting on  blanket of lawn chair in the grass.

Beach to Bay Relay Marathon, Corpus Christi

This event will be held on May 19, 2012. Running enthusiasts visiting Corpus Christi will have a wonderful time at this event. It is a full marathon, 26.2 miles, but it is a relay event. Six people run the marathon as a group. This event is also a great way to see some of the area on foot, the route starts on North Padre Island and travels through Corpus Christi.

Rockport Festival of Wines, Rockport

The last weekend of May visitors to Rockport can enjoy The Festival of Wines. This event features wines from around the world for attendees to enjoy. In addition there is food, beer, a variety of vendors and even live music. The whole even is held in the Texas Maritime Museum, one of Rockport's great attractions.

Velocity Games, Corpus Cristi

Windsurfing and Kiteboarding enthusiasts will love to attend this Memorial Day Weekend event. This is a five day event, which combines the U.S. Open Windsurfing Regatta and the U.S. Open Kiteboarding Championships. Visitors will be delighted to watch this thrilling water sports while also enjoying the wonderful Memorial Day weather in beautiful Corpus Christi.
