 The Loess Hills, a captivating geologic formation along the Missouri River, lends this region much of its charm. Tour the lush farmland and rolling foothills Hunt for morel mushrooms in DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge, or spend the day watching shorebirds, eagles, gulls, pheasants, and warblers. Deer, coyotes, beavers, and mink all make their home here. For excellent fishing, stop by Viking Lake or the Lake of Three Fires, a 97-acre lake, nestled in over 600 acres of open space.
