MARK TWAIN

Missouri
MARK TWAIN

The Mississippi River dominates life in this region, just as it did in Mark Twain’s time. Find a spot at a riverside café and watch the current, or step into the farmlands for a breath of prairie air. At Mark Twain State Park, you can view the glacially-carved hills and limestone cliffs, towering above Salt River. Picnic beneath the oak, hickory, and maple trees, or watch for white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and squirrels.
