| | Omaha, Nebraska’s largest city, has a colorful past. Named for the Native Americans who lived here prior to 1854, Omaha has seen historic trials, steamboats, rail lines, and gold-rushers. Dramatic weather has also played its part, bringing floods, tornadoes, drought, and insect swarms. Most days are pleasant, however, and make perfect boating and swimming conditions.
