NEW YORK

New York
The Empire State
New York City has attractions for everyone. From the Statue of Liberty to the Museum of Natural History, every visitor can find something to do - and plenty to eat in one of the city's wonderful restaurants. But New York State has far more to offer than what lies on the island of Manhattan. Trek into the west for a taste of the rugged Allegany Mountains, or to the north where the Adirondacks provide excellent hiking, fishing, skiing, and boating. Further south, grand homes and small towns line the sleepy Hudson River. Head into the Catskills for a marvelous escape, not far from the lights of our nation's largest city.
From the coasts of Long Island to the tip of Mount Marcy, New York is filled with wilderness adventures. Look for deer, foxes, butterflies, bears, bobcats, and birds wherever you go. Hike the fir and spruce forests, try bobsledding at Lake Placid, or fish for trout in the Finger Lakes. When the day is done, head back to the city for culture, fine dining, and urban excitement.
