LAKES AND GARDENS

North Dakota
LAKES AND GARDENS

Pay a visit to Fort Abraham Lincoln, the infantry and cavalry post from which Custer and the Seventh Cavalry rode out to battle the Sioux at the Little Big Horn. Further north, explore a brighter side of history on the shores of Lake Sakakawea, named in honor of the Shoshone woman who served as a guide for the Corps of Discovery. This lake is famed for its salmon fishing and hosts several derbies each year.
