Fall Creek Falls State Park

This park is one of Tennessee's most beautiful state parks. Filled with all sorts of natural wonders, including waterfalls, forests, streams, gorges and more. The park gets its name from Fall Creek Falls, which at a height of 256 feet is the highest in the eastern part of the country. Fall Creek Falls is not the only falls in the park, there are a few other amazing falls that visitors can enjoy as well. While enjoying the stunning nature protected within the park, visitors can also enjoy plenty of recreation as well. Recreational opportunities include biking, boating, camping, fishing, hiking and more.

Frozen Head State Park

Located in the Cumberland Mountains, this park is a wonderful Tennessee destination. There are over 16 mountain peaks within the park, including Frozen Head, which is one of the tallest. Visitors can enjoy plenty of scenery at this park, including a spectacular show of wildflowers, as well as streams, waterfalls and more. Visitors can also enjoy view from the observation tower on top of Frozen Head.

Meeman Shelby Forest State Park

Visitors to Meeman Shelby Forest State Park will find that it is located on the Mississippi River, close to the city of Memphis. Throughout this park there are all sorts of wonderful natural features, including hardwood forests and other types of trees, as well as lakes and more. While exploring this park visitors can enjoy the two lakes, miles of hiking trails, disc-golf courses and much more. In addition, while enjoying this park visitors can spend time wildlife watching as well as birdwatching and more.

Norris Dam State Park

Norris Dam State Park is located on the Norris Reservoir, which was a Tennessee Valley Authority project. Visitors to this park can enjoy plenty of recreation. The park is filled with miles of trails, which are great for hiking and biking. In addition the park is also a wonderful destination to enjoy water recreation, there are miles of shoreline, as well as plenty of opportunity for boating, fishing and more.

Pinson Mounds State Archeological Park

Located in western Tennessee this archeological park preserves some prehistoric  mounds and other features found at the site. Visitors to this site can explore the 15 mounds, earthworks, dwellings and more. In addition to exploring the archeological site preserved within the park, visitors can also learn about the historic culture that created the mounds and what they were used for.

Roan Mountain State Park

This beautiful park covers over 2000 acres of Appalachian forest. Within these acres of forest visitors can enjoy all sorts of outdoor recreation and beautiful areas. The park offers visitors miles of hiking trails through the hardwood forests, wildflowers and habitat for a wide range of  wildlife. In addition to enjoying the hiking trail sand beautiful natural features, bistros can also enjoy fishing, swimming, park programs and much more.

Rock Island State Park

Rock Island State Park is home to the Great Falls of the Caney Fork River. This is a beautiful limestone gorge, which makes this park an amazing scenic destination. Visitors can explore the waterfalls, pools, beaches and much more. While exploring the beauty of the park, visitors can enjoy fishing, hiking, boating and more. Rock Island State Park is also home to some historic features, including an early hydroelectric plant and much more.

Standing Stone State Park

This park is located on the Cumberland Plateau, which is a fantastic destination for enjoying scenery and much more. Within this park there are almost 11000 acres of forest, which are wonderful for hiking, enjoying the wildlife and plants. Visitors can enjoy the many types of wildflowers. The park is also a wonderful destination for boating, fishing, park programs and more.

Tims Ford State Park

The Tims Ford State Park is located on the Tims Ford Reservoir. While enjoying this park, visitors will enjoy lots of recreation and fishing. Visitors can spend time fishing and boating on the Elk River. In addition visitors can also enjoy hiking, exploring the hills and natural features of the park. Tims Ford State Park also has some amazing archeological features, including excavations and many artifacts and more.

The Walls of Jericho Natural Area

Located within the Bear Hollow Mountain Wildlife Management Area,  the Walls of Jericho are a fascinating geological feature of Tennessee. Steep rock walls create a bowl-shaped amphitheater. Another feature of the Wall of Jericho are the holes in the walls, which water drips from. Visitors to this geological feature can also enjoy the amazing diversity of plants and animals living within the amphitheater and the area.
