Surrounded by the unbelievable beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Whitefish Hill RV Park in Rapid River is a resort-quality park that will keep you coming back year after year. Easy to find off of Hwy 2 and offering an easy to use online reservation system, the campground provides plenty of spacious RV sites, as well as RV rentals and park models. Open from April 15 through November 30, the park is a perfect base camp to see the sights and enjoy the best of the Upper Peninsula.
The fishing is excellent in the waters of Little Bay De Noc, yielding loads of walleye, perch, salmon, trout, bass and many other species. Hunters will find a buck pole and target deer on site and of course, the hiking in this area is ideal. When you are ready to venture out and explore the area, make sure you plan a stop at the Sand Point Lighthouse on the north shore of Lake Michigan. The lighthouse, which operated from 1868 until 1939, is open from June 1 through September 1, features some truly amazing views.
Another great excursion is to the Fayette Townsite, a deserted 1880s company town that includes 20 historic buildings as well as museum exhibits, a walking tour and scenic overlooks. Guided tours are available during the summer months. During your stay, another must-see destination is the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center which features gallery exhibits, and art workshops that are sure to please. No matter what brings you to northern Michigan, however, you will always be welcome at the Whitefish Hill RV Park, your U.P. home away from home. |
