Northwest

NORTHWEST

Wyoming
NORTHWEST

Real cowboy country, northwestern Wyoming is a land of open ranges and big skies. Fifty miles to the east of Yellowstone National Park you’ll find the city of Cody, a lasting tribute to the wild west. Founded by a group of businessmen including William F. Cody, better known as "Buffalo Bill," Cody is home to a historical center that showcases the work of American West artists and sheds light on the area’s past. Bighorn Canyon offers many recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, and swimming. Home to members of the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribes, this region is a historical gold mine. Inside the Wind River Indian Reservation is the Eastern Shoshone Cultural Center and Sacajawea’s grave site, both at Fort Washakie. In Ethete, also inside the reservation, you’ll find the Northern Arapaho Cultural Museum.
