Wisconsin

Wisconsin

Wisconsin
Land of the Big Woods
The big woods of Wisconsin are alive with sounds - the lapping of waves on a sandy shore, the cries of eagles, and the chatter of squirrels in the trees. Come for the excellent boating and fishing (both angling and fly-fishing), or for the chance to see black bears, foxes, deer, and snowshoe hares in their native forests. Winter sports are naturally popular here. Go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling on the hundreds of miles of forest trails, or try your hand at ice fishing on a frozen lake.
Discover the islands of Lake Superior in the north and the rugged wilderness that lies along Lake Michigan's northern edge. In the west, the power of the Mississippi River has created limestone bluffs that tower over the rushing waters. The state's center is filed with rivers, lakes, and deep forests of maple, oak, and hickory. In the southeast you'll find Milwaukee and the college towns of Green Bay and Madison. Dine along the shores of Lake Winnebago, or watch for shorebirds while you rest on the sands of Harrington Beach.
