The breathtaking scenery beckons from the Laurel Highlands of Southwest Pennsylvania, where Huston's Hickory Hollow Campground awaits your visit. Easy to access via the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the camp offers RV and tent campsites on its gorgeous grounds, as well as rental cabins and convenient online reservations. Open from April 15th through October 31st and located in Rockwood, visitors will enjoy hiking and biking, fishing in the stocked lake and many area attractions all season long.
The awe-inspiring vistas of the Great Allegheny Passage, which extends for 150 miles, invite hikers and bikers to explore the flora and fauna of the region, with a trail head just four miles from camp. Another great way to see the area is on a driving tour of Somerset County, with many small towns with fine restaurants, shops and annual festivals, and is particularly striking when autumn colors are at their peak. For a day of family fun, be sure to plan a trip to Idlewild Park, with its many themed areas, including a Story Book Forest and many other attractions such as roller coasters, tube rides, and a Ferris Wheel.
The Seven Springs Mountain Resort, nestled in the nearby Laurel Mountains, presents guests with golfing, hiking and biking opportunities, and features indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, shows and of course, sweeping mountain views. When you descend from the mountains, the Jennerstown Speedway, host of NASCAR's Nextel Cup, is the place to be, with races every Saturday night from May to September. With plenty to do and see in the area and on site, the perfect home base for your trip to southwest Pennsylvania is Huston's Hickory Hollow Campground. |
