The town of Lubbock is the place to be for excursions off camp, with plenty of fine restaurants, entertainment venues and museums such as the Buddy Holly Museum and the Ranching Heritage Museum. Mackenzie Park, just a short drive from the campground, is a 248 acre area that features a Prairie Dog town, equestrian trails, an amusement park and two golf courses.
